David "Devilfish" Ulliott was born in Hull, England on January 4th,
1954. Dave still resides in Hull and is now married with seven
children. The "Devilfish" acquired his nickname one night after beating
a Chinese opponent who called Dave a devilfish - a poisonous fish that
can kill you if not properly prepared. Dave Ulliott has been living up
to that name ever since by mortally wounding all opponents who don't
take extra care in handling David at the poker table. Ulliott is one of
the most feared poker players in the tournament world with an
intimidating appearance composed of his suit and tie, slicked back
hair, orange tinted glasses, and his outlandish double finger gold
rings that read "Devil" on one hand and "Fish" on the other.
David
Ulliot is all business at the tables - and business has been good.
David took 1st place for a bracelet in the 1997 WSOP Pot Limit Hold 'em
event, cashing in $180,310 and 2nd place in the same event in 1998
taking home $150,480. In January of 2002 Ulliott took 1st place in the
Third Annual Jack Binion World Poker Open Pot Limit Omaha event worth
$123,772 and the next year came back to win the $10,000 buy-in No Limit
Hold 'em main event worth $589,175. The "Devilfish" has had numerous
money finishes in the past few years, but most recently ran hot at the
2005 WSOP cashing in three events including a 3rd place finish in the
$1,500 No Limit Hold 'em event worth $232,205. David Ulliot is a
well-rounded world-class player who can show up at any final table,
literally anywhere in the world - if he shows up at your table remember
to "handle with care".
