Doyle Brunson was born in Longworth, Texas on September 10, 1933. Doyle
now lives in Las Vegas and is married with three children. A true
legend of the game, Doyle literally wrote the book on poker. Doyle's
book "Super System" is considered by many to be the definitive work of
poker literature. Doyle began playing poker in college and after
college began playing in bigger and bigger cash games around Texas.
This man has seen it all, including a man shot dead in the seat right
next to him in a poker game. Doyle is a living legend from a time when
poker was not the respectable game we see it as today.
Doyle
Brunson's achievements in poker span five decades. He holds 10 WSOP
bracelets, one of only two people to do so. His 10 bracelets are from
seven different categories - Deuce to Seven Draw, Seven-Card Stud
Split, Seven Card Stud, Mixed Doubles, No Limit Hold 'em, Seven Card
Stud, and H.O.R.S.E. He is one of only two people to win the WSOP back
to back in 1976 and 1977. Doyle has played successfully in high stakes
cash games throughout the years, but has shown recent success in
tournament play as well. Doyle placed first among the largest ever WPT
field at the time in the 2004 Legends of Poker WPT event, collecting
over 1.1 million, confirming at age 71 that he's still a legend of
poker. Get a copy of Doyle's textbook of poker, "Super System 2"
