Gus Hansen

Gus Hansen was born in Copenhagen, Denmark and made a name for himself in recent years as a competitive backgammon player. Gus is a young, energetic player who uses a style of play that is so aggressive, some say it borders on insanity. Gus plays with absolutely no fear, able to play any hand at any time as if it were aces. Gus stormed onto the tournament poker scene with wins in the WPT in the past two years totaling almost 1.5 million.

Gus was one of the first three inductees into the WPT Hall of Fame, along with Doyle Brunson and James Gardner. Most recently Gus has had a first place finish in the 2004 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure - collecting $455,780 for his efforts, and a third place finish in this years Bay 101 Shooting Stars event - taking home $320,000. Gus Hansen is an exciting young player to watch play the game of no limit Hold 'em, look for him in many more tournaments to come.
