		Humberto Brenes Humberto Brenes was born in San Jose, Costa Rica in 1951. Brenes still resides in San Jose and is married with three children. Brenes is a former baccarat tournament player who began playing poker around the age of 23. Brenes has been playing in poker tournaments regularly since 1988 and has earned a reputation for his unforgettable charisma and "Latin charm". Humberto's wardrobe is as colorful as his character - usually sporting a brightly colored jump suit and his trademark two pair of glasses worn one on top of the other. Don't let the carefree persona fool you; Humberto is an accomplished tournament player with two recent final table appearances in back to back weeks on the WPT.Humberto Brenes' achievements in poker date back to a 4th place finish in the 1988 WSOP Championship No Limit Hold 'em event worth $77,000. He placed first in the Omaha Pot Limit event of the WSOP in 1993, talking home $128,000, and first in the Limit Hold 'em event the same year worth $149,000. Some other money finishes include: 2nd place in the Limit Hold â€˜em event of the 1995 WSOP, 2nd in the 1996 WSOP Seven Card Stud event, and 2nd in the 1999 WSOP Limit Hold 'em event. Brenes has over 40 money finishes in his tournament career, with recent success on the WPT finishing 2nd and 3rd and collecting over $1.5 million.
