Kenna James

Kenna James was born on December 18th, 1963 in Chicago, Illinois and now lives in Downey, California with his wife, and fellow pro poker player, Marcia Waggoner. Kenna James moved to southern California to pursue a career in acting and got a job as a poker dealer at Hollywood Park Casino to make money on the side. In 1995 Kenna had worked his way to the position of floor manager but decided that playing poker for a living would require less time for more money, so he decided to pursue poker full-time. James' poker career has seen its ups and downs and he admits his bankroll has bottomed out as many as three times in one year. Since then, Kenna has no doubt turned a profit with career winnings around $960,000.

Kenna James had a good year in 2003 with a 4th place finish in the WSOP $2,500 No Limit Hold 'em event worth $36,140, 1st place in the Grand Slam of Poker worth $28,120, and 1st place in the Four Queens Poker Classic collecting $30,030. Also in 2003, James took a 1st place finish in the Bellagio Five-Diamond World Poker Classic taking home $156,168 and one month later finished 3rd place in the Crown Australian Poker Championship worth $101,625. Recently, Kenna James had some success in the 2005 WSOP Main Event coming in a distant 44th place, but collecting (get ready for this) $235,390 - with payouts like that, winning really isn't everything.
