Kirill Gerasimov

Kirill Gerasimov was born in Moscow, Russia in 1971 and still resides there with his wife and child. Kirill is a young player that has only been playing poker for three and a half years. Amazingly, this self-proclaimed "natural" has accomplished more in the past three years then most players could ever hope for. Kirill began playing poker in casinos in Moscow and was encouraged by his friends to enter some tournaments. Gerasimov quickly found that he was as naturally suited to tournaments as he was at cash games and won his first major event in 2002 against some of the best European players in the world. This win gave Kirill the opportunity to get some financial backing from an online poker room and enter the 2003 Bellagio Five Diamond Poker Classic where he did well for his backers finishing 2nd and taking home a little over $500,000.

Kirill Gerasimov has accumulated career earnings over 1 million dollars with about 200k coming from European events. Some of Gerasimov's major cashes in tournament poker include: 1st place in the 2002 Master Classics of Poker worth $30,458, 2nd place finish at the 2003 Bellagio Five-Star World Poker Classic worth 500k, 1st place in the 2003 Austrian Masters collecting $42,233, and 2nd place in the 2004 WSOP $1,500 No Limit Hold 'em Shootout - just shy of the coveted bracelet, but worth $100,000 nonetheless. Recently, Gerasimov had a strong showing at the 2005 WSOP cashing in four events with a 2nd place finish in the $1,500 Seven Card Stud event, again just shy of the bracelet, but collecting $108,775 for his efforts. Gerasimov credits his online play for the development of his overall game.
