Men 'The Master' Nguyen

Men Nguyen was born in Phanthiet, Vietnam in 1954. Nguyen (pronounced - win) left Vietnam in 1978 by hiding on a fishing boat for five days that ended up in Malaysia. Nguyen soon made it to Los Angeles where he still resides today. Men had some tough jobs at first in the states, working as a delivery man and a machinist, but found time to take weekend trips to Las Vegas where he observed the poker room from the rail before playing and loosing his whole bank roll. Nguyen didn't give up however, he saved his money from the machine shop and came back to Vegas the next weekend to win $3,500 at the same game, and Men "The Master" had mastered his first game of many. By 1990 Men was making more money at poker and sold his businesses to play cards full-time.

Men Nguyen is a legend in the game of poker with money finishes that span nearly 20 years. Nguyen was "Player of the Year" in 1997, 2001, and 2003, with six WSOP gold bracelets to his name. Nguyen has made 20 final tables at the WSOP and has over 75 tournament victories earning an estimated $4 million in prize money. More recently, Nguyen took first place in the Bay 101 Shooting Star Limit Hold 'em event in 2004 and second in the same event in 2005. Men Nguyen is a gentleman at the tables and away from them - since going pro he has donated money from his winnings to build two new schools for children back in Vietnam.
