Men Nguyen was born in Phanthiet, Vietnam in 1954. Nguyen (pronounced -
win) left Vietnam in 1978 by hiding on a fishing boat for five days
that ended up in Malaysia. Nguyen soon made it to Los Angeles where he
still resides today. Men had some tough jobs at first in the states,
working as a delivery man and a machinist, but found time to take
weekend trips to Las Vegas where he observed the poker room from the
rail before playing and loosing his whole bank roll. Nguyen didn't give
up however, he saved his money from the machine shop and came back to
Vegas the next weekend to win $3,500 at the same game, and Men "The
Master" had mastered his first game of many. By 1990 Men was making
more money at poker and sold his businesses to play cards full-time.
