Paul Maxfield

Paul Maxfield was born on January 29th, 1957 and now lives in Staffordshire, England - he is divorced with two children. Paul has been a successful tournament player in Europe for the past ten years and has only recently started playing tournaments in the United States - with great results. Maxfield spends his spare time playing golf and has recently retired from running the company he started with his brother, which produces pharmaceutical medicines. Paul has earned the right to retire, with tournament winnings in the past year exceeding $1.7 million.

Paul Maxfield had two final table finishes in the 2004 WSOP totaling roughly $57,000 and two first place finishes in European events in 2004 worth about $190,000. These wins can't even compare to his finish in the $25,000 buy-in WPT Third Annual Five-Star World Poker Classic, taking second place to Tuan Le and collecting $1,698,390 for his efforts. Paul Maxfield claims his main ambition in poker is to win the WOSP Main Event, and with over 24 money finishes in major tournaments in the past year, the main event bracelet might just find its home in jolly old Staffordshire.
