Robert Williamson III

Robert Williamson III was born in Granbury, Texas on November 7th, 1970 and now lives in Dallas Texas. Robert Williamson III started playing poker around the age of 10 at his father's home game. When Robert reached his teenage years he started making money regularly playing poker and pool with the rich kids from his high school, collecting as much as $3,000 in one night. Robert used to take trips with his father to Las Vegas where he would sit down to play poker, five years under age, with a bankroll of about 10,000 or so. Besides playing poker, Robert made money from scalping and running pancake houses, which were earning him a six-figure income by the time he graduated college. Since then, Williamson has managed his bankroll well, earning around $1.5 million in his tournament poker career.

Some of Robert's achievements in tournament poker include: One WSOP bracelet for his 1st place finish in the 2002 Pot Limit Omaha Event worth $201,160, 2nd place in the 2004 WSOP Pot Limit Omaha event collecting $103,580, and 2nd place in The Sixth Annual Jack Binion World Poker Open Pot Limit Omaha event worth $65,766. One might start to think that Robert's game is Pot Limit Omaha - this year at the 2005 WSOP Robert threatened to capture another gold bracelet in the event, but finished second to Phil Ivey, nonetheless taking home $353,115 - and he didn't have to hand the chips off to his father to cash out this time.
