Ron Rose

Ron Rose was born in Vancouver, Washington in 1944 and now lives in Dayton, Ohio. Rose started playing poker later in life after many undertakings such as: a degree in Mathematics from the University of Massachusetts, becoming a captain in the U.S. Air Force, and becoming a member of the American Stock Exchange. Ron Rose also acquired a wife, three children, and four grand children along the way before taking up tournament poker in 2000. Ron had always maintained the goal of one day competing against the top pros in the world, which he finally achieved at the 2003 WPT Battle of Champions event where he competed and won outright.

Ron Rose has cashed in around $730,000 in tournament winnings in the past five years and has one WSOP bracelet to his name for the 2003 Seniors No Limit Hold 'em event worth $130,060. Some of Ron's other tournament poker cashes include: 3rd place in the 2002 Third Annual Jack Binion World Poker Open Pot Limit Omaha event worth $61,866, 1st place in the 2002 Spring Tournament in Paris worth $ 28,759, and 2nd place in the 2004 L.A. Poker Classic Pot Limit Hold 'em event collecting $60,410 in prize money. In November of 2004, Rose had a 3rd place finish in the PPT World Poker Finals and collected $60,000 for a hard days work. Ron admits that the win he is most fond of is the win from the 2003 WPT Battle of Champions tournament and why not - coming out victorious against an entry field of the top pros in the world is definitely a story to tell the grand kids all about.
