Ross Boatman

Ross "Rocky" Boatman was born in Archway, England and still lives there with his wife and child. Ross Boatman is an actor who for the past eight years has starred in England's most popular TV drama, "London's Burning". When he's not acting, Ross is traveling the world playing tournaments with his colleagues in the Hendon Mob - a group composed of Ross, his older brother Barny, Joe Beevers, and Ram Vaswani. The Mob play under the sponsorship of Prima Poker and have done well for their backers with combined career winnings over $3.7 million. Ross admits it was his older brother, Barny, who got him started playing poker when they were young and Barny was supposed to be babysitting little Ross. One night, Ross was finally allowed to sit down in big brother's poker game, and after winning several big pots Ross was hooked on the game for life.

Ross Boatman's poker career is definitely not another acting performance - he's accumulated over $660,000 from tournaments all over the world. Some of Ross's cashes in tournament poker include: 2nd place in the 2000 Vienna Spring Festival European WSOP Trial worth $36,810, 2nd place in the Late Night Poker Series 2 Grand Final worth $20,799, 2nd place in the 2002 British Open Royal Jubilee Cup worth $61,820, 1st place in the 2002 European Poker Classics No Limit Hold 'em event worth $115,944, and 2nd place in the 2003 Midland Masters tournament taking home $40,866. Recently, Ross had 4 cashes at the 2005 WSOP, but none in any big money - it should be noted, however, that considering the monster entry fields of the 2005 WSOP events, just cashing in them proves superior tournament playing ability.
