Scotty Nguyen
Scotty Nguyen was born in Nha Trang, Vietnam in 1962 and moved to the
United States at age 14. Scotty is known as one of the most aggressive
players ever to play the game of Hold 'em. Scotty is a character at the
tables, usually joking, laughing, and being his charming self,
especially with the ladies. Scotty is responsible for one very
memorable final hand in the 1998 WSOP when he stated to his opponent,
Kevin McBride,"You call this one and it's all over, baby." McBride
called the full house on the board expecting to split the pot and
Scotty turned over a higher full house - it was all over, baby.
Some
of Scotty's poker achievements include the victories in the1998 WSOP
main event, 2001 WSOP Pot Limit Omaha, 1997 WSOP Omaha High Low, Limit
and Seven Card Stud at the 2003 Legends of Poker, and the Bellagio Five
Diamond Pot Limit Omaha event. Scotty is always a presence at
tournaments and some of his final table finishes include the Legends of
Poker event, the Grand Slam of Poker, the World poker Open, and the
World Poker Finals. Most recently Scotty finished 4th at the 2005 The
Sixth Annual Jack Binion World Poker Open, taking home $336,282.
