Simon "Aces" Trumper was born in Kensington, England on May 31st, 1963
and now resides in Guildford England with his spouse and four children.
Trumper is a successful businessman having owned a few companies in
England and running his first business at the age of 25. Trumper began
playing poker in 1995 when a friend encouraged him to go to a
tournament just for fun. Since then, Simon has been building a name for
himself on the tournament scene in Europe with great success on the
televised "Late Night Poker" Series finishing 1st, 1st, and 2nd in
three of the six series. Trumper has made 26 final tables in the past
four years in Europe and did it all while raising no less than four
children.
Most of Trumper's tournament achievements came in
European events with U.S. events only counting for roughly 20% of his
career winnings. Nonetheless, Simon is on his way to hitting the 1
million dollar mark for career winnings overall. Some of Trumper's
accomplishments in tournament poker include: 1st place in the European
World Series of Poker Trial in 2001 cashing $65,355, 1st place in the
2001 Austrian Masters No Limit Hold 'em event worth $36,554, 4th place
in the 2002 WSOP $3,000 buy-in No Limit Hold 'em event taking home
$59,560, and 1st place in the 2004 Masterclassics of Poker held in
Amsterdam with a prize of $90,361. Recently, Trumper made a final table
in the 2005 WSOP Pot Limit Omaha event and finished a respectable 5th
place out of an entry field of 165 competitors to take home a cool
$93,060 in cash.
