T.J. Cloutier was born in Albany, California on October 13, 1939. T. J.
now lives in Richardson, Texas - he is married with six children. T. J.
began playing poker in 1956 while still in the army. He would then go
on to play football in the Canadian Football League but suffered an
injury to his knee, ending his athletic career. T. J. took a job as a
derrick man on oil rigs, but soon realized he was making more money
playing poker and quit his job to play poker full time. T. J. is one of
the original "old school" poker players, and has established a long and
successful career full of many achievements.
Among T. J.'s
successes in poker, you will find he as won more than fifty major
events were the buy-in was $500 or greater. T. J. has placed in the top
five in the main event of the WSOP four times, and that includes two
second-place finishes in 1985 and 2000. T. J. has four WSOP bracelets
and is the 3rd all time money winner in the WSOP accumulating
$2,992,841. T. J. has written three books on poker "Championship No Limit and Pot Limit Hold 'em", "Championship Omaha Pot Limit, Limit, 8 or Better", and "Championship Hold 'em - Limit".
